What we keep, and what we do not.

What this site collects

• An email address, if you give one. It is stored in our own database (Amazon Web Services, United States) with where on the site you signed up, and added to our Shopify customer list with your consent to be emailed. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
• Order details, handled and stored by Shopify when you check out. Shopify tells this site what was ordered so we can count pre-orders per edition; it does not send us your name, address or card, and we never see card numbers.
• Cart contents, a gift note if you write one, and your October progress, kept in your own browser until you check out or clear them.

Analytics and errors

We use PostHog in cookieless mode to see which pages and editions people look at and where checkout is lost. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; visits are tied together for a day by an anonymous identifier computed on PostHog's servers and then discarded. If a page breaks, the error, the page address and the browser type are reported to PostHog so we can fix it. No advertising pixels, no third-party trackers.

Your rights

Ask for what we hold about you, or ask for it deleted, at carl@carlklier.dev.

Third parties

Shopify (checkout, orders, email list), Amazon Web Services (hosting and our database) and PostHog (analytics and error reports) process data under their own policies. Links to JustWatch and Letterboxd leave this site; their policies apply there.
